Center Capital acquires seafood restaurant business Captain D’s from Sentinel Capital Partners

Sentinel Capital Partners sold a seafood fast food chain Captain D return to another private equity firm Center Partners.

The deal comes five years after Sentinel took over the business from Centre, which bought Captain D’s in 2013.

The fish and seafood specialist has 545 restaurants in the Southeast and Midwest of the United States.

Bruce Pollack, Managing Partner of Center Partners, said, “We are delighted to have the opportunity to once again partner with Phil Greifeld and this experienced management team.

“With its differentiated menu of appetizing seafood, Captain D’s offers a unique value proposition to its customers.

“We look forward to supporting Phil and the team as they look to grow the business significantly.”

Previous investments in Sentinel restaurants have included Fazoli’s, Checkers Drive-in Restaurants, Newk’s Eatery and Huddle House.

The company specializes in supporting established businesses with an EBITDA of up to $80 million, in the aerospace and defense, business services, consumer, retail, food and catering, franchising, health and industry.
